Night Heron - Stitch and Glue
This will be my second kayak. The first was a canvas covered open boat made from an article in Popular Mechanics back near 1970. At the time, I did not know anything about kayaking, sprayskirts or paddling. I stretched the plans to make a tandem. I remember it being fun but very unstable with two people. I am sure I did not have or use a kayak paddle.
If you live near Wichita and have an interest in this project or one like it don't hesitate to contact me. I chose a stitch and glue design because I am in a hurry for a light weight boat. I expect to follow this project with a strip built boat.

10/11/2005 Have plans and a book ordered. Currently finishing another project so I can have my garage back for a workshop.
8/3/2007 Garage now has furnace. No room to work yet. Need to build shed to house welder. Spent spring promoting the sport, building a trailer and preparing an economical vehicle. Still have not started on boat construction. What a procrastinator I am.
